JK IDCC IPR is too solid in 3G to lose significantly in a Special Master's decision.

This is a bargaining ploy by Nokia, IMO. I anticipate that Nokia and IDCC will be in negotiations on a settlement involving 2G and 3G following the Arbitration hearing next week - and Nokia is trying to scare IDCC into shaving one or two tenths of a percent off the 3G royalty rate.

With $1 billion in royalties to IDCC at stake for 2G and 3G, every little bit the royalty gets shaved helps Nokia immensely, especially compared with the legal costs associated with actions like today's.

RE: Bill_D; it won't prevail if its 3G IPR gets whittled down in a Special Master's hearing (a la 2G single base station). JMO, JK
