Hartcourt Appoints Kabani as Its Auditor

SHANGHAI, CHINA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jan 6, 2005 -- The Hartcourt Companies, Inc. (OTC BB:HRCT.OB - News) (Frankfurt: 900009), today announced that the Board of Directors of Hartcourt appointed Kabani & Company, Inc. as its registered independent public accounting firm on December 30, 2004, replacing Loral International Certified Public Accountants. Loral resigned as the registered public accounting firm for Hartcourt and its subsidiaries on December 29, 2004. After several months of discussions, Hartcourt and Loral were unable to conclude a mutually satisfactory engagement agreement for future auditing services. Loral International served as Hartcourt's auditor for three years.
