The company can beat the short sellers by coming out with excellent numbers, announce their share buyback and mention upcoming contracts. They must create an atmosphere of nothing but "good". This will bring in more buyers than sellers and the price will adjust accordingly. As price moves higher shorts will have to cover and this will move the price even higher.
At the present the balls in the companies court. They had better act fast.
