Hi Lucky. I've a Japanese friend who volunteered to translate these power twitters you guys have posted. Here, unabridged, is her commentary-

"N" says it's mostly babbling on twitter -- a large portion is just link spam. She says that there was a news article on TV last week, and so there are useless comments like "since I posted a blog article about the TV spot, my traffic went way up" (kira). A different guy said he was going to give Qtrax a try. An hour later he wrote that he is giving up.

Right now you can't get any tweets past 7 days ago.

On Kira's blog, he quoted an article, since expired, which indicated that in April 2009, Qtrax launched in the US. He did try to use the system in Japan back in April 09, but he was unable to listen to music (no indication if he was clever enough to use a US based IP address).

Anyway, by looking at kira's blog, she learned it was supposed to launch in January, but didn't, though oddly there was that TV spot a week ago. Some people are wondering if it has a chance because of questions around how artists would get paid.

She also googled japanese blogs:

-- one says it launched in Japan 3-26-2010
-- another one says that it is a legit service but you get ads when you play music. Ipod playable. (Note: this is just hearsay, not actual testing by this blogger.)
-- another blogger says he wants JP version of Qtrax.

That's about it from the blogs -- I get the impression that a lot of the hits were just keyword sites trolling for page views.

So, Lucky, as I told you or others last week, the Japanese tweets are garbage.

Shame on anyone who would propagate this crap. SHAME!!
