Hi Tom, I think that the Idiot Wave can be used to tactical advantage in the right circumstances. I talked about this a bit in my review of Lundell's "Art of War for investors and traders."

It was hard for me to put my ego aside in January of 1988. I'd survived the "crash" of '87 and was still on my own. My overall plan hadn't been that much different from AIM, but was much less structured. My ego wanted me to stick with what I was doing. My pragmatic side said that AIM did a better job in '87 and would most likely do so in the future.

It's hard to know what the right direction is in the beginning as there's not that many road maps. I don't know where I'd be today if I hadn't been testing AIM against my own activity in 1987. If I'd never found Mr. Lichello's book in the mid '80s life would have been quite different.
