Anything is possible, but I suspect that wasn't the case. I doubt that he'd take a position for a year to simply become a free agent. From what I have seen, past management seemed to be more concerned with having a fancy office and lining their own pockets than putting the necessary effort behind making/marketing software. Many people were let down by how things worked out. I further believe that Ted did, and most likely still does believe in the software... just not the company... At least that's how I'd feel.
