Exobox has released two products: Exodetect and ExoWatch. They advertise Exodetect as "Data Leak Detection and Protection". Is it not a true DLP software? I think that they might be talking about protecting data assets, not protecting against leaks??? Your insight will be appreciated.

Exobox Releases ExoDetect SaaS Data Leak Detection and Protection Software
New security and compliance software solution makes company data more secure

HOUSTON, TEXAS (JUNE 30, 2009) – Exobox today announced that the company’s highly anticipated SaaS (Software-As-A-Service) data leak detection software product, ExoDetect, is now commercially available.

While many organizations invest heavily to protect their enterprise, significant data leakage still occurs, at an estimated cost of $1 million per incident. ExoDetect is designed to identify and recover valuable information and intellectual property that has already escaped beyond the corporate walls and into “the wild” – or places on the Internet where data is accessible by the public.

“Exobox is excited to make ExoDetect available via subscription, to companies that want to safeguard their most valuable data assets and regain control over their reputations,” said Ted Ernst, CTO of Exobox. “No other product mitigates risk associated with governance and compliance breeches and closes the gaps that allow sensitive data to escape and become a liability to an organization to the extent that ExoDetect does. We worked hard to develop a product that would give corporations assurance that their private discussions, plans, and strategies were protected, and after a comprehensive research and development process, we have achieved that goal.”

Exobox Releases ExoWatch Data Leak Security Software for Web-Based Sites

Exobox’s second security software offering scans corporate websites, open portals and microsites for unauthorized release of information

HOUSTON, texas (AUGUST 27, 2009) – Exobox Technologies Corp. (OTCBB: EXBX), an information risk management and security solutions provider, today launched ExoWatch, a revolutionary SaaS (Software-As-A-Service) data leak detection software product that – for the first time – consistently monitors information posted on corporate, education and government-owned websites, open portals and microsites.

ExoWatch is designed to regularly monitor a client’s Web-based public and private sites to detect and then send alerts about posted data that was not intentionally released.

Exobox is now the first-to-market with a data leak detection product that reaches beyond the IT enterprise and protects corporations, educational institutions and government agencies with a powerful tool that monitors their own Web-based sites.

“We are very happy to introduce another exciting, much needed product to the marketplace immediately after the successful market launch of ExoDetect, our SaaS data leak detection and protection software,” Regan said.
