the mcnerny excuse was LB's and I did not know him well enough to question it. As of today, I am under the impression that mcnerny and AS are still working together. The Iacocca thing was also fed to me and others by LB. Again, how could anyone prove or disprove the validity of that. On reflection, it was just one more attempt to inflate the value of the company at the time, so that those who held stock could sell it off.
