We are relying on the character of men.

I agree "...that these guys are deeply confused as to handle things..." Either they know that they are going to be rich, so don't care what they sell at now. Or, they are taking what they can, without looking like an obvious scam, before it fails. I believe they really don't care about current runs, because they know what is going to happen, soon. Good or bad.
