I agree, but why not announce all of it? There can only be a few reasons.

To drive down the unit price for someones benefit? That's risky.

Or they simply can't announce it. The settlement includes the proceeds of properties that have not been sold yet. Until the auction they can't include that amount in the settlement... but to settle, the plaintiff's had to know approximately what they would get out of the auction.

The clock is ticking. They have to let that number out of the bag before this ends up in a class action cluster-&^ck. They've settled for pennies and destroyed the common unit holder in the process. Not the kind of justcie I was looking for.
