On 22 July, 2004, on TETs-26 JOINT STOCK COMPANY of "Mosenergo - Moscow Regional Administration of Power System Management" was put into use elegaz sulfur hexafluoride switch 500 kV. New switch is characterized by the higher level of reliability and
safety, and also has the practically unlimited period of service.
Until recently on TETs-26 were established only air circuit breakers 500 kV of domestic manufacture. To repair of one of such switches of energy company it would be
necessary to spend in the present year of approximately 5 million rubles, i.e., almost so many, how much costs new elegaz sulfur hexafluoride switch. Therefore management JOINT STOCK COMPANY of "Mosenergo - Moscow
Regional Administration of Power System Management" accepted the solution about the purchase of the elegaz sulfur hexafluoride switch of Swedish firm "AVV" (ABB ?) . Switch was established into the shortest periods - for its installation and the adjustment TETs-26 were required only four days.

The construction of elegaz sulfur hexafluoride switches considerably simplifies their maintenance and it makes it possible to carry out
repair work without the preliminary dismantling of equipment.
Moscow energy company has already long ago approached the gradual replacement in its branches of air and oil breakers to the elegaz sulfur hexafluoride, however, the switch with a power of 500 kV is established for the
first time. It is characterized by the low cost of maintenance and has in practice unlimited period of operation under normal conditions. Furthermore, switch is developed taking into account all requirements on the
protection of nature: the insulating and current-conducting components are prepared from the
ecologically clean materials and can be utilized, without disadvantaging to environment.
