At least with WiFi, businesses put up hot spots on their own. Only problem is that you have to go looking for the hot spot, then maybe pay that business for the privilege of using it.

Right now, my preferred method of logging onto the Internet while on the road is going to a Starbucks and using the AT&T WiFi service provided there. Two hours free every day, and Starbucks is everywhere.

I might consider Clearwire in the near future and being an early adopter. I haven't been an early adopter of most new technologies recently, and that's a shame given that I'm supposed to be a geek ...
