Repeating my earlier comment on this subject, some time ago, this statement was made immediately following the Chapter 11 petition, at a time when many possibilities were being explored. Among them, that some or all of the debt would be converted to equity. In this context, the creditors would not close off one avenue of relief by stating the intent to kill the stock.
