a little briefing from sterling's review for wind solar energy in ibox.

The Technology

Our planned thin film solar manufacturing plant in Florida is planned to meet a demand for solar cells which is expected to continue for the next several years as the major and emerging economies struggle to develop alternative renewable power sources .

Thin Film technology is easy to manufacture, because the process is simple, the materials are cheaper and easier to obtain.

Thin Film solar cells are very competitive in terms of cost per watt.

Recently with advent of manufacturing equipment which require an almost clean room as opposed to a clean room, it is possible to produce thin film cells at a cost lower than other kinds of solar cells.

Amorphous Silicon Thin Film Cells Thin Film solar have favorable KWh/Kwp ratios and low cost per watt. (model of solar cell below.solarserver)

Advantages of Thin Film Technologies

Efficient production equipment available from many manufacturers

Largest Growth segment of the Industry

Cheaper cost per Kw hr

As petroleum power cost increases, solar power becomes more attractive

No Material Constraints

Ease Of manufacture

Low material uses Simplified manufacturing processing

Can be integrated into building facades

Cheaper to produce energy
