Parlux Fragrances Sales Increase
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — Even before its expected launch of a Paris Hilton perfume later this year, Parlux Fragrances is seeing a surge in sales. For the fourth quarter ended March 31, income rose 116 percent to $2.5 million, or 24 cents a diluted share, from $1.1 million, or 12 cents, a year ago. Sales jumped 34 percent to $19.6 million from $14.6 million. For the year, income was up 14.5 percent to $6.3 million, or 63 cents a diluted share, from $5.5 million, or 54 cents. Sales gained 11.5 percent to $80.6 million from $72.3 million. “Our balance sheet is strong and our working capital exceeded $53 million. This accomplishment is the result of a fine collaborative effort of our management team, staff, licensors and suppliers,” said chairman and chief executive officer Ilia Lekach. The company recently signed a worldwide license with Paris Hilton for a namesake fragrance to launch later this year. The firm also plans to launch a new Guess fragrance next summer.
