yeah i see it. i'm just looking for a way to make $ and I think thats with gold very short term; the dollar, is still
relatively strong (look at the weekly); believe it or not the trade deficit actually declined and while everyone loves to trash the US economy, its still ok relative to the rest of the world. many still see it as relative safety. its just like the foreigners who hate the US but will do anything to get here. also, relatively speaking the US is taking more agressive moves - look how long it took europe to act (still fighting inflation?)
china buys our debt because we buy their stuff;
the middle-east buys our debt because we buy their oil;
US also provides security and relative stability for much of the world; the success in Iraq has huge, positive ripple effects IMO;
they can mock and criticize all they want, they still depend on trade
