I really have no idea how the changes are going to impact stocks like NXCO, much less the market generally as opposed to in this or that specific pocket. I guess, at this point, we really don't know what the hell the rules are going to be... and sure as hell can't tell what they will be the next day, or next week... etc., much less whether the rules really are what we are being told they are ??? For all I know, they will announce at mid day tomorrow that the new rules will only apply to particular exchanges... or to stocks that have certificates of a particular color. That would cause some panic... paper stocks would skyrocket... and companies would issue new certificates like Dr. Seuss's Sneetches changing to going with or without the stars on thars.
Yep. Clearly, another "confidence building measure" brought to you by your Federal government...
Playing in the market seems to be more and more what it must be like to play a basketball game with a bunch of football officials managing the game by the rules they know... occasionally swapping out a few of them for hockey officials... maybe a couple from badminton just to shake things up and keep the multi-sport players guessing ???
If stocks are only allowed to go up, does that means all stocks will go up, or will there be a major capital realignment from stocks where capital had moved only because it was trying to avoid unconstrained short selling risks... by seeking out the more widely ignored corners of the market... and now, it can move where the lack of short selling means you really only want to be... first in line to find the fastest up elevator ???
Maybe a wandering a bit from NXCO specifics, here... but, sometimes it seems you can't avoid the impact from a "WTF" that applies more generally.
I do find it likely that I'll need to re-evaluate everything I've held in the "cache memory" related to all the shares I follow... including NXCO...
Do the new rules mean we aren't needing to think "up or down"... but only how fast? How does it alter the value of different types of risk in the market ???
