Lithium Technology stopping flat cell production in MontcoPhiladelphia Business Journal
Lithium-ion battery maker Lithium Technology Corp. said Friday that Theo M.M. Kremers has been made CEO, and that it is discontinuing flat cell production at the company's headquarters in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.

"This step is necessary to allow the company to focus all its efforts on cylindrical cells that are its core competency," Lithium said. "The company will expand its present manufacturing capability in Germany."

Information on how the move will affect employment at Lithium's Montgomery County site was not available. A call to a company representative was not immediately returned.

Kremers has presided over "several European and U.S.-based IT and high-tech companies, Lithium (Pink Sheets:LTHU) said. Former CEO Klaus Brandt is now chief technology officer and president.
