Great find BB, thanks. Glad to see you back with us.

I was hoping to see a Compaq entry on the OEM list, or the new Sony Vaio "U". Oh, well. BTW, the Sony says the "U" is for ubiquitous. How is that for positive thinking! I read somewhere that the Vaio "U" will have markings for a telephone dialpad on the keyboard. The Vaio U could turn out to be a transitional product and I am really looking forward to its introduction.

I didn't think I had seen the NEC LaVie Z before, so I did some exploring. It turns out to be a real handsome, small laptop featuring a Halliburton brushed aluminum case. Uses the TM5600 at 600 MHz, 30 or 20 GB HD, 10.4 TFT screen, and a CD-Rom. Weighs 1.5 kg. The various other laptops from NEC feature mostly PIIIs and a few AMD mobile chips, so this is a welcome shift for NEC.
