Agrium Inc. (AGU) sharply raised its second-quarter earnings guidance, citing "very strong results" from its retail and wholesale operations amid high crop prices and "unprecedented demand for crop inputs."

In addition, Chief Executive Mike Wilson said the fertilizer company foresees "an extended demand-driven cycle."
