EAG Government Contracts..."While Beard has an oilfield background that will carry Energy America Geothermal through the loop installation, McDonald knows how to find his way through government red tape to capture government contracts. He has worked for the last 25 years as a contractor in support of the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy and the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to that he was employed at the Department of Energy for six years.

A large amount of money, McDonald said, "is being spent by the federal government (on geothermal HVAC). They recognize the value."

"The federal government creates an economy of scale that allows the formation of companies like ours."

Right now, McDonald will focus on contracts with governmental entities at all levels and large commercial/institutional sites. He would like to see Energy America Geothermal do a residential development, also.

Beard said there are millions of tonnage of geothermal air conditioning and heating on military sites. His company was a sub-contractor on a system at Ft. Bliss.

Noting a presidential mandate to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, McDonald said, "The market is right, now, for proving out geothermal with the federal government, schools and the military.

"When the federal government takes grasp, the systems become more proven."
