Vex, remote control of the planes is another of the other theories that have been put forward.

Some of these theories proponents are quite adamant.

My own view is that they are all interesting, but lacking further evidence it is not possible to know with any certainity what did happen. Only what did not.

Why were the videos seized from the gas station and Pentagon Sheraton video cameras never released?

Why were demonstrably fraudulent photos from the Pentagon parking lot security camera released?

Why does no video of any of the hijackers at their airports of origination supposedly exist, despite every major airport in the U.S. having dozens, if not hundreds of security cameras on 911?

How did so many cell phone calls get made from the planes when such calls are virtually impossible?
