I have a question i'm almost embarrased to ask.

on one hand..."GenoMed's is the only treatment to have shown a 90% cure rate so far. No human vaccine yet exists for this disease. No other treatment is as inexpensive, as safe, nor already universally available like GenoMed's."

and on the other:

"Disease Management(TM) company that uses its expertise in genes to improve patient outcomes, said today that its protocol has helped the first patient in the U.S. in 2004 who is presumed to have West Nile virus encephalitis. This patient represents the ninth success out of ten consecutive patients to be treated with GenoMed's protocol."

my question:is it the first patient?if it indeed is,how did the treatment shown a 90%cure rate so far ?
am i missing something?or were the previous patients not U.S
citizens?i just do not get it.

Can someone enlighten me up?
TIA
