Oh dear
I'm so sorry about the pasta. I think those fresh pastas in the stores are awesome. I can't tell them from homemade. And I think I have a fairly discerning palate.

As for music, I started playing the piano at 5. I have some talent, but realized in college I don't have THAT kind of talent- The kind that would make me make music my life's work. Mr. X is also musical- and played the guitar and the harmonica. His parents never forked out for music lessons, which is too bad. Our two older children are very very good. They are wonderful singers as well as musicians. My oldest daughter sang with a Kodaly singing group for 2 years, and next year we hope she can be in chorus at school- although it will be a lot of work, since she is already in band. My son is amazing on his clarinet. He was the youngest student his teacher had ever had, and he learned to read music over night (literally). He can pick out anything by ear- yesterday it was the Star Spangled BAnner, a few weeks ago it was Anitra's Dance from the Peer Gynt Suite. As you know my son has learning disabilities so we are so glad he excells in this area. We are going to start him on the Saxophone next year, and keep adding instruments as his teacher thinks fit. We are just lucky we had the time and money to try so many different things with our kids so we could find out what they were good at.

I hope the youngest has some talent, because she is EXTREMELY jealous of her brother and sister. They practice a lot, and my little one gets out her tin whistle or her guitar whenever she gets really burned up (she has lessons at school- but she isn't learning anything smile Just in case she doesn't turn out to be musical I am starting her with tennis lessons as well. She is the most atheletic of my children and has excellent balance and reflexes, and we did have some good tennis players in our family.
