Zeev,

Yesterday afternoon, there was a huge jump in equity put volume was fluctuation between about 31,000 and 46,000. Then at 2:00 pm EST, volume jumped to 172,000.

Is this typical? I remember seeing this on the index options the week before 9/11, but the spike was a lot bigger then, around a few hundred thousand contracts I think.
