Yes. But do not use a water based paint. Or if you do, use a non-water based primer first.

But I would not prime. Pay a "lot" extra and get a single coat enamel paint. Home Depot is the place to get the right paint. Or maybe even Lowes. They have experts in the paint department that will be happy to sell you the right single coat paint.

Actually not much more expensive in the long run. (you will have to ventilate a day or two. Borrow smoke extractor fans from somewhere...like the fire department uses.)
