IOwn - I don't disagree - but what does that have to do with it, or anything? She was dumb enough to lie.... at a time and in a place that required the truth. It's not as if she fibbed with a friend in your living room. If she had only not said anything we wouldn't have this conversation. Unfortunately, she decided to act as if she was above the law, even though relatively speaking there are far worse offenders - she was too blind to see the current environment is seeking to change the mood about "relative" honesty. Not telling the truth in her specific situation, given what is going on with Enron and others - not to mention how we got ourselves into Iraq (and yes I am a republican) - well, even my 9 year old nephew could have told you "now is not the right time to pretend you are above the law in a high profile case, especially when 1 out of 2 people tend to think you're a difficult person (I'm being polite) and a bit snobby.

In any event - good conversation - we'll just have to agree to disagree that she is innocent and deserves no punishment, if that is your bottom line.
