Well not everything relies on random low-latency memory access smile. The results compare quite well with SpecINTrate between the two.

A 3.2 Ghz 2Mb Xeon DP still has an average 266fsb (2.1 Gb/s) for itself on a 2-way shared bus as opposed to the average 100fsb (0.8 Gb/s) the Xeon MPs do. The Athlon XP launched quite happily with 266fsb !

The other important thing to remember is that on 130nm Opteron still has another 200Mhz to go as well as 90nm to add to the pain. Who knows how well Nocona/Potomac will perform in light of the Prescott base of both. 2004 looks like an AMD banner year from top to bottom which should be highlighted best in Q404 results which should be a blinder as 90nm K8 and leaner Flash operations coalesce, 300-400m profit I would guess.
