I think what will happen is that US gov't will step in to stop the housing slump. The presidential election is coming up and the last thing any political party wants to see is a major RECESSION right before the election!

* Fed is dropping interest rates FAST!
* US Gov't and Banks are finding ways to decrease the number of foreclosures next year, e.g., by freeze subprime rate
