Michael Dell's ambiguity is quite helpful to the Dell company interests. It allows maximum leverage on both AMD and Intel to extract concessions from each of them.

If Dell does choose to offer both Intel and AMD, it allows them to negotiate the best possible deal from both. If Dell ccooses to reain Intel only, it will certainly extract the maximum concessions from Intel.
