I went and looked at the download site you recommended. This utility removes Windows Messenger, not the noxious MSN Messenger that dear Microsoft has tied so closely to their MSN user that I cannot login if I remove it. Without MSN Messenger, it seems "passport" gets hosed, resulting in my not being able to sign in with my ISP (MSN).

I still may get rid of Windows Messenger anyway, though!
