Myrna Z. Weiss is the President and Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Weiss, who joined I B Net in 1998, brings more than two decades of experience in international business and marketing to the company. Her expertise in constructing strategic alliances, joint ventures, and international partnerships has involved many significant corporations, including Visa International, WrapCo, and Allied Signal. She has advised and structured business and investment opportunities in health care, consumer products, financial services, packaging and luxury goods as both an entrepreneur, and as marketing manager at Rothschild, Inc. Earlier, as a manager at Metropolitan Life insurance Companies, she structured health cost containment programs similar to those used in managed health care today.
Prior to becoming CEO of the Company, Ms. Weiss served as Managing Director and a member of the Board of Directors of WrapCo International NV. WrapCo International owns patents for cost-efficient and environmentally beneficial packaging technology.
A native of New York City, Ms. Weiss holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University's Barnard College and a Master Degrees in history/economics from Hunter College and a Master Degree in health administration from New York University, respectively. She also completed the Advanced Marketing Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
William Gatta is the Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer of I B Net, Ltd. Mr. Gatta joined I B Net in March 1999 with extensive experience in financial policies and procedures as well as in general management.
For 20 years, he served in management capacities at Frankel's Home Furnishings, a major retailer with 1000 employees, rising to the position of president and chief operating officer. In that role, he developed expertise in a range of negotiation and acquisition roles regarding the company's 100-plus locations throughout a five-state region.
As Frankel's chief financial officer, treasurer, and controller, Mr. Gatta initiated improvements that encompassed the restructuring of debt, the bidding process, cash management systems, and the financial policies and controls pertaining to employees.
Prior to joining Frankel's, Mr. Gatta served as the senior accountant at Phillips Business Systems and also as an accountant with one of the predecessor companies of Deloitte and Touche, I B Net's auditing firm. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Dowling College.
Jon A. Gilbert is the Vice President of Technology for I B Net, Ltd. Mr. Gilbert is also President of the New York based company Videotex Development Corporation.
Mr. Gilbert develops, markets and designs Web sites, e-commerce solutions and interactive online services. The company has developed customized interactive services for such clients as MCI International, WorldCom, Bell Atlantic, Victoire Multimedia, Newsday, News Corp, the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, and France Telecom.
Prior to founding Videotex Development in 1986, Mr. Gilbert worked for five years at RCA Global Communications (now MCI International) where he developed, managed and marketed the company's international interactive information and communications products. Mr. Gilbert was also Director of Sales and Marketing at Delphi Internet Services, where he was responsible for marketing the company's flagship service, Delphi, and for bringing the company's interactive products to telephone company interactive gateways. During the past 13 years, Mr. Gilbert has developed a wide range of international, interactive business-to-business services.
Mr. Gilbert received a BA from Hamilton College with a major in Government. He also studied political science at the L'Institut D'Etudes Politique in Paris, France.
John J. Harte has been a director of I B Net since February 1998, and Chairman of the company since June 1998.
He is an owner and Chief Executive Officer of Mid-Lakes Distribution, Inc., a Mid-West HVAC distributor company located in Chicago. He was Chairman and Chief Executive of Medicom International, Inc., a public company providing continuing education for health care professionals. Mr. Harte has been on the board of several public and private companies and currently serves on the board of Barringer Technologies, Inc., a provider of high tech equipment for the detection of chemicals, explosives and drugs to airlines, private industry, and governmental agencies. Mr. Harte serves on the audit and compensation committees of that company. Mr. Harte has over thirty-five years experience in operating companies in many business areas including real estate development, construction, HVAC, health care, oil and gas, and entertainment.
Charles Abrams has been a director of I B Net since August 1997, and was Chairman from August 1997 to June 1998.
Since 1980, he has also been Chairman of International Partners Corporation, a New York-based investment holding company. He was a Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Ladenburg, Thalmann International, Ltd., a New York-based investment banking firm. He was also Chairman of Strategic Partners International, Ltd., a European-based merchant banking firm. Mr. Abrams also held the position of Chairman of International Capital & Technology Corporation, and Chairman of European-American Investment Group. Mr. Abrams was among the first American investment bankers and businessmen invited to visit China in late 1972. Mr. Abrams began his career in merchant banking as a protégé of Sir Lennox Alexander of The Vickers Group, London. From 1955 to 1965, he assisted Sir Lennox in the international financing of projects all over the world, including Africa, India, South America, Mexico and the United States.
Todd G. Cole has been a director of I B Net since March 1999. He began his career in aviation with Delta Air Lines, where he was serving as a director, Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Scheduling Committee when he resigned in 1963. Thereafter, following five and one-half years with Eastern Airlines where he was a Director, Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Finance Committee, he joined CIT Financial Corporation. At the time, CIT was a $10 billion diversified financial services organization which also owned operating companies in the banking, insurance, manufacturing and retail industries and provided substantial funding for the airline industry. Mr. Cole was Chief Executive Officer of CIT Financial Corporation before starting his present career as Consultant and Corporate Director.
Mr. Cole has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Airlines, where he managed its Chapter 11 proceedings to a successful conclusion, and as Vice Chairman and Director of Eastern Air Lines during its Chapter 11 status.
Mr. Cole is currently a director of Avborne, Inc. (aircraft and component overhaul), Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. (certificated air carrier), Kaiser Ventures, Inc. (water resources, land development and waste management), Ionosphere Technologies (automated resources management), TravelOps, Inc. (lead-generating technology presently focused on leisure travel), and 1Hemisphere (bringing the benefits of the internet to small business enterprises in Latin America).
Mr. Cole was educated at Louisiana State University and has a law degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law.
Bruce L. Cockett has been a director of I B Net since August 1997. From 1992 to 1996, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of COMSAT Corporation and held various positions with that company and its divisions since 1980.
He has accumulated over 25 years of experience in finance and general management in the banking, aerospace, and telecommunication industries. In addition to I B Net, Mr. Crockett serves on the boards of directors of ACE Limited, AIM Management Group Inc., CIGNAL Global Communications, Eagle Eye Technologies, Inc., University of Rochester Board of Trustees, INROADS, Inc. and the Boy Scouts of America. He served as a director of GlobalTel Resources, Inc.
Lyman C. Hamilton has been a director of I B Net since August 1997. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Interdigital Comms, Inc. from 1994 to 1995. Prior to that, he was an executive with ITT Corporation from 1962 through 1979 and was President and Chief Executive Officer of ITT Corporation from 1978 to 1979. He was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Corp. of America (1989-1990); Chairman of World Television (1988-1989); and Chairman and President of Tamco Enterprises (1980-1989). He also served as Director of Investments for North Africa & Middle East for the International Bank for Reconstruction & Development (IRBD) and its subsidiary, the International Finance Corporation based in Washington, DC. In addition to the Company, Mr. Hamilton serves on the boards of directors of Scans Optics, Video Net and Polyvisions, Inc. and has served as a director of GlobalTel Resources, Inc.
