Prescott new speed nomenclature?

New Prescotts are not in stock yet but there seems to be
another wrinkle in the distributor's listing. Now they are
listed as some new frequency specification. They are posted as:

Boxed 2.8E GHz Intel Pentium4 Prescott.
478 PIN, 1MB on-die cache, 800FSB.
Part number BX80546PG2800E

All of the parts (2.8, 3.0 and 3.2) have the 'E' in
the 'frequency'. What's up with that? Are they doing an
AMD and now using an 'extreme' gigahertz nomenclature?

Is this the basis of the 'slow parts' at launch rumor?
Could it be that the launch parts really are in the range
of 2.4GHz and they 'perform' like 2.8GHz?

Mystery deepens.... I guess I'll know when they get in stock.

Out the LAN card, down the cable, through the router,
out the gateway, to the ISP...nothin' but net!
