Too hard to tell. My Scottrade will show buys when my Etrade level 2 shows them as sells. I would say though that the majority of the volume is buying. I will watch a load of volume come in for the stock to stabilize and then a couple sells will drop it or the MMs fudge the number. For example, the ask will be lower than the current price and maybe sometimes the bid?!
