drjohn, interesting benchmarks. I guess Doug was right, this one came out fast enough! Looks like a draw between A64 3000+ and P4 3000 (courtesy Bablefish):

Yes, sounds about right, but in about 6 weeks there will be a Prescott 3.0GHz version that A64-3000 will not compete well with. That means ASPs will sink even further while Athlons may not even compete with Prescott Celerons. With 90nm perhaps a year away it's not looking good for AMD.
