This is not unlike the real estate bubble of the mid 2000s and every other documented bubble. There is somewhere between no value and substantially less value than the market perceives based on nothing more than trend and social excitement. We love to root for the home team and find others who will do the same. Gambling enterprises live on this need we have to be a part of a group. Crypto is especially pernicious and not unlike Tulip Mania. It is a useful product masquerading as an investment. You may as well invest in a socket wrench. Is it more complex, sure. Is it more than a tool, no.
