dstock, Do you know if RevImmune has a relationship with NWBO at this time? There's been some discussion on this board about RevImmune and the synergy its IL-7 has with DCVax. It appears to be a privately owned company which has the IL-7, CYT-107. I'm also wondering if it's one of the companies some longs believe we might merge or partner with.

Andrew Caravello wrote on X this morning (and thanks to Eagle8 for posting it over here) how Dr. Crystal Mackall who

discovered how IL-7, a natural protein in the body, helps rebuild and strengthen the immune system

developed CYT-107. That got me wondering where NWBO is on developing a franchise or relationship with them.

This is what Andrew wrote about it:

IL-7 Already Complements DCVax-L

IL-7—specifically the clinical-grade version called CYT107, developed and patented by RevImmune—is like fuel for your immune system. It helps T-cells grow back after chemo, stay diverse, and remember what they’ve been trained to attack.

That encouraged me to reacquaint myself with IL-7. This is what Google's AI said:

Interleukin-7 (IL-7) is a cytokine that plays a crucial role in regulating the development, survival, and proliferation of various immune cells, particularly B cells, T cells, and NK cells. It's essential for the proper function of the immune system, and deficiencies in IL-7 can lead to severe immunodeficiency.

Here's a more detailed look at what IL-7 does:
1. B Cell Development and Homeostasis:
IL-7 is critical for the development of B cells, specifically promoting the progression of B-cell progenitors from the pre-pro-B-cell stage to later stages.
It promotes the proliferation and survival of B cells, as well as the upregulation of cell cycle regulators like cyclin D3.
IL-7 also plays a role in the rearrangement of immunoglobulin genes in precursor B cells.

2. T Cell Development and Homeostasis:
IL-7 is essential for the survival and expansion of T cells, especially naive T cells and memory T cells.
It regulates the balance between proliferation and apoptosis in T cells.
IL-7 can also promote T cell survival by upregulating anti-apoptotic genes like Bcl-2 and Mcl-1.

3. Other Immune Cells:
IL-7 is involved in the development and function of other immune cells, including natural killer (NK) cells and dendritic cells.
It contributes to the activation of immune cells in anti-virus and anti-tumor immunity.

4. Role in Immunity and Disease:
IL-7 is involved in regulating the immune system's response to infections and tumors.
IL-7 therapy has shown promise in improving immune reconstitution after certain treatments, such as antiretroviral therapy for HIV infection.
IL-7 can also be used as a molecular adjuvant to improve vaccine efficacy by promoting and extending systemic immune responses.
IL-7's role in immune regulation also extends to its potential involvement in autoimmune diseases, where it can contribute to T cell-driven autoimmunity.
In summary, IL-7 is a versatile cytokine with a wide range of functions related to immune cell development, homeostasis, and the overall immune response. Its role in maintaining a healthy immune system makes it a target for research and therapeutic interventions, especially in conditions like immunodeficiency, autoimmune diseases, and cancer.

I very much appreciate your work, dstock.
