ABC, Adding a thought on how valuable DCVax may be for patients with an organ transplant. For those not familiar, the problem is that patients have to take immune suppressing drugs for the rest of their lives, so the body doesn't attack the new organ (viewed as "not self"). In the case there is an infection in the organ (for example a latent virus, that activates itself only when immune suppressed), the organ then comes under attack. The doctor/patient is now stuck in a catch 22. Reducing the immunosuppressant drug means the immune system may attack the new organ, ie rejection. Not reducing the drug means the virus grows and can eventually destroy the organ.

Therefore if DCVax can be made to be tolerogenic, it can possibly reduce the amount of immunosuppressant drug an organ transplant patient needs to take, and therefore heighten the patient's immune system just a bit, maybe just enough to fight the virus and to prevent organ rejection. Just thoughts.
