Just an FYI in case you forgot, but earlier this year Imec produced a technical paper for an InP modulator that used Perkinamine. So maybe they actually are working together...lol.

In general, most references to polymers like the one you are rebutting are for passive polymers (for waveguides, substrates, RDLs, etc) and not active electro-optic polymers.

Also, that Google AI is off a bit. PMMA on its own is not an active polymer but is commonly used as the host material that is combined with the chromophores to make the polymer electro-optically active.

SiGe modulators are sort of having a renaissance the last year or so from what I can tell.
