Amen. The Lord gave me warning last year in a vision, I woke up to the word SARDIS
In the Bible, Sardis refers to a city that was once the capital of the Lydian kingdom in Asia Minor. Here are some key points about Sardis:
Historical Background: Around 1200 years before Jesus, Sardis became a prominent city known for its safety, prosperity, and natural resources. Located at the foot of Mount Tmolus, it was well fortified and had access to fresh water and gold from the Practolus River. Sardis gained respect from neighboring provinces and was called “Sardis, the Impregnable.” However, over time, their pride and overconfidence led to neglect and decline.
Spiritual Significance: The Church at Sardis is one of the seven churches addressed in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 3:1-6). The name “Sardis” means “those escaping” or “that which remains.” The warning to the believers in Sardis was to choose between following their city’s history, tradition, and culture or following the way of the Lord. So, in biblical context, Sardis represents both a historical city and a spiritual lesson about remaining vigilant and faithful.
