KCC from Reddit today said,

KCC - I’m expecting a separate reveal of LWLG’s slot modulator (not plasmonic with Polariton) at 200G in the O-band. Probably around ECOC/PECC in September/October.

KCC - LWLG will have O-band and C-band covered…IMDD and coherent transmission covered. 200G per lane at 1V. 400G per lane already in sight with non-plasmonic modulators, too.

It is enhanced silicon photonics that drastically boosts speed and reduces power consumption. Not complicated or expensive like InP, TFLN, and BTO. Completely processed at the foundry while LWLG uses its own lab to make material for volume production and focus on continual improvements to the technology.

I’m hoping the upcoming ALD presentation gives us some good insights into the readiness for mass manufacturing. The ALD creates the hermetic seal without using the gold box packaging. This is what allows these PICs to be used inside a pluggable transceiver versus a discrete/standalone component.

I’m bored like most here…but we’ve gotta be REALLY close to some major partnership news.

LWLG has a real chance to monopolize the market for modulators over 100Ghz.
