Tonight I gained some insight. This really isn't about delays for him.
ML wants to get the most out of it, which as an entrepreneur myself, I completely understand.
Obviously I don't know how far those discussions have progressed. But if Was ML, I would also go for the top prize instead of many small deals. The fact that it goes slower, is the toll you pay. (Not nice for the shareholders).
After a larger deal, you can sell your product a little more expensively to the smaller buyer. Seems logical to me...
