I am no longer so bold as to render an opinion re permits, DOE etc. I thought I understood but who knows?

That being said, I reached out to one of my contacts in the O& G sector who I have been communicating with these past many years to ask him what he and his thought about the DOE and Delfin. Here is his response. (He said it was ok to reference his response to me)

Hi (JAB65),

We were literally just talking about this. The debate is a valid one. Right now, Delfin has their NFTA approval, so they're all good. But they will need to file for an extension as it expires in June, I believe. It is unclear right now if they can meet the criteria set forth by DOE for an extension. Under those criteria, they would both have to start construction and demonstrate that "extenuating circumstances" have hindered the project's completion. There has been so much going on with this pause, that we have yet to ask around specifically about Delfin, given all the other projects impacted. So, I can't say with certainty whether DOE will grant an extension or not.

So, the moral of the story is that even those who follow the sector daily as part of their job can be unsure, although Jamison clearly thinks that they need to file. The only truth that has been bantered about is that Delfin knows.....
