Los Angeles was under a "Damp Streets and Sidewalks Alert" until 1 pm today.

The California Current is our Hurricane Barrier

The current starts off at 48 F where it diverges south toward Canada.

The California ocean picks up heat as it travels along western North America.

The ocean water is 66 F today offshore San Diego, having sucked the heat out of "a hurricane".

The California ocean current is closer to 79 F where it leaves southern Mexico and joins Equatorial waters.
.

In contrast the water temperature is 87 F offshore Miami, Florida. That's a 20 degree difference. Hurricanes are a creation of heat.
.

Onshore water temperatures mix with warmer currents from Mexico at the "hurricane boundary" just off San Diego, CA.

We've run out of other people's Social Security taxes needed to subsidize our low income tax rates.
