Ha - conversation with my 19 year old daughter a little while ago:

Me: What's wrong?
Her: I dunno - just bored right now.
Me: You want to play backgammon?
Her: We don't have backgammon.
Me: Sure we do, you want to play?
Her: I've always wanted to play backgammon.
Me: Really?
Me: Find the board in the basement closet. Open it up and start setting up the pieces.
Her: That's not backgammon.
Me: Sure it is.
Her: Googling on her phone.
Her: Oh I thought you meant badminton.

Edit: So I tried introducing backgammon years ago and neither were interested. I recently started playing some app on my phone that has it on there. That's what made me think to throw it out there. She decided after the second game that there may be some strategy involved but the luck of the die outweighs any strategy that could determine the outcome of the game.
