05:18 AM EST, 01/24/2023 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon.com's (AMZN) Amazon Web Services said late Monday it has launched its second infrastructure region in Australia, called AWS Asia Pacific (Melbourne) Region.
Amazon Web Services aims to invest about $4.5 billion in the country by 2037 through the new region, which consists of three availability zones and joins the existing AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region that opened in November 2012, the company said.
The new launch will allow local customers to store data securely in the country and provide them with lower latency, more efficient business operations, and improved real-time application performance, as well as access to advanced AWS technologies, the company said.
