When I was following the trial I got a Yogi Berra moment. Like I've seen this play out before - hundreds of times. This situation is just like a trial in the old west in a situation that we are all familiar with. The cattle baron's son gets drunk in a bar and shoots up the place, killing someone, and then gets arrested. So he gets a trial in a town that his dad essentially owns with cowhands and storekeepers that either work for him directly or depend on his business.

Now even though there were dozens of witnesses and done in a public place and he may have shot the local preacher (what the preacher was doing in a bar was never explained) who had a family the size of the Walton's - guess what? Hung jury.

Happens every time and it happened here. So I am bitching again about the folks that wanted a jury trial in this company town with a jury that was dependent on the company. Maybe next time - but I feel this is like Charlie Brown and the football - you sort of know what's coming next.
