With a RS the value of all shareholders positions remains the same...until the market decides otherwise.
If a company with 10 billion shares OS and 30 billion AS--which has no effect on the share price or market value--is priced at $1/share the market value of the company is $10 billion and a shareholder with 1million shares has a value of $1million.
A 10 for one RS would reduce the OS to 1 billion; increase the price per share to $10 and the shareholder would have 100,000 shares, still worth $1 million, until, like ALL marketable securities the market decides otherwise.
