They've left out one important thing: Italians don't snack throughout the day. Yes, if they stop for a drink--a Campari soda or a beer, usually--after work, they'll get a little bowl of potato chips, and will eat a few.
But that's about it. Otherwise, they eat meals. Sitting down.
This isn't really true, unless something's changed since I left:
They will drink the occasional glass of wine, coke and or beer, but water is their number one.
They don't drink all that much coke. But they do drink wine with meals. Usually dinner, though there're still some who want a couple of glasses with lunch.
What they don't do is drink to get drunk. Not women, or men either.
