Investment of the third infrastructure package will be greater: Concamin

The amount of investment for the third private sector infrastructure package will be higher compared to the previous two, assured José Abugaber Andonie, president of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin).

During his participation in the work table "Investment Opportunities in the Development Poles of the Interoceanic Corridor", the leader of the industrialists recalled that last Friday the head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), Rogelio Ramírez de la Or, he met with the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), where one of the topics that was addressed was the third tranche of projects that are yet to be announced and only need the approval of the Mexican government to be announced.

Abugaber Andonie pointed out that he proposed actions to the official so that the SHCP joins to strengthen the productive chains in the industrial sector, referring to the third package of investment projects, which is about to be approved and will be greater than the previous ones.

The leader of Concamin did not specify the amount of investment, but the previous investment packages in infrastructure projects add up to 525 billion pesos distributed in 68 projects.

The leader of the industrialists called for the sector to be included in the infrastructure development projects contained in this package, which will include the 10 industrial parks that will be located on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and that will have special fiscal incentives and will include works from the two packages previous.

"We businessmen insist, we want to work together, join for our country and Mexican families, we want to continue investing in the country," he said.

The leader of Concamin pointed out that during the meeting that Rogelio Ramírez de la O, Secretary of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), with the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), expressed the needs of the industry and how they could be added to trigger greater investment in the development of the South-Southeast.

“There we expressed the needs of the industry and how we could join together to trigger more investment in this area of ??the country. Well, that is the line that we must follow to build, join and work together, ”he noted.

Rafael Marín Mollinedo, general director, Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT), commented during the forum organized by Concamin that the circumstances for the development of this region in the south of the country are given, since Chinese products have lost competitiveness before the tariffs imposed by the United States.

“With all the problems of the trade war between China and the United States, the supply in the American Union has been complicated… there we believe that we can put ourselves in the middle of this conflict and that the companies turn to see the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and come to settle here”, said the official.

The president of Concamin pointed out that the business sector he represents is convinced that by boosting national production, the industry will soon be in a position to even replace imports from other countries so that Mexico becomes a world benchmark, both in investments and exports.

Wow this is significant! Originally the third package was going to be about 1/3 the size of the first two, now they are saying it is going to be even greater than the first two packages already announced. And big focus on the Isthmus and the 10 industrial parks.
